Well life has returned to almost normal (whatever that is!!) after the hellish few weeks of Mitigating Circumstances/Exam Boards/Graduation/Term Activation and Course Unit Selection!! Now that I am back to working sensible hours I have managed to start crafting again :D *yay* I am in the process of finishing the baby blanket I started months ago as a present; knitting a tiny Audrey Hepburn for my friend Rachel's birthday; possibly knitting a tiny Elvis for my uncle's birthday; yet to finish the (nearly) last of the mohicans before starting another and starting a bean bag for Sam's treehouse that will be arriving next week!
I have also discovered the joy of Tunisian crochet, and I am rather ambitiously starting an album cover themed blanket (or cushions, I haven't decided yet)..... It is so blindingly easy to pick-up that I probably should have started with Tunisian rather than regular crochet. I've even managed to get the hang of holding the hook in one hand and the wool in the other, rather than the weird way I started myself off with.
Looking forward to my gorgeous little man's 3rd birthday in a couple of weeks, with lots of treehouse building and party preparation between now and then. I will no longer call my time away from work a "holiday"! lol

Bamboo Top Finished :D
After some painstaking sewing up and re-crocheting the neckline 3 times, the black bamboo top is finally finished :D It even works quite well as a work top, which I decided to try out today. I've started the white bamboo top now, which will be a "make it up as I go and hope I don't bugger it up" experiment on circular needles. I hate sewing up seams!
In non-crafty news, Sam got a glowing review at his Parent's morning, so I'm a very proud mummy!
Now, back to crocheting the uber thick blanket for the bed with my ebay 11 balls of Bigga wool....

the start of another loooooooong week
Mike did really well yesterday considering he wasn't on top form, and Sam had been really poorly the night before. I don't entirely understand people who want to run, but admire them for it all the same! I'd rather take my hobbies at a more sedate pace like....
.... nearly finishing the Bamboo black vest-top on Sunday (just boring tidying up ends of wool left) and starting on what will now be known as "The Last of the Mohicans." I promised Mike (upon receipt of Domiknitrix for my birthday last year) that I would make him the mohawk hat. I started about a month ago with quite fine aran wool and it ended up, well, a little small for him - but Sam got a cool hat out of it!! So to make good on my promise, I've started again knitting in nice chunky wool and I'm about 1/3 done. I say it's the last of the mohicans because trying to follow "SSK, knit to marker, RLI, sl marker, k1, LLI, knit to last 2, k2tog" repeatedly is sending me loopy!
Work is going to be busy, but at least the days will go nice and quick! Now back to picking up gusset stitches...

Loooooooong week
Work is getting really hectic (thanks in no small part to the bloody volcanic eruption!) I've really missed seeing Mike and Sam this week :( and it's going to get worse before it gets better because of exams....
Mike is running the Greater Manchester 10k on Sunday, so I will take Sam for some adventuring in town. Hopefully I'll be able to squeeze in a bit of crafting and get the bamboo top finished?

A brilliant Sam quote
Last night I asked Sam "what do you want to be when you grow up?" thinking that he might say a policeman or fireman..... not my son who answered "Chocolate!"
